Billing periods must come from the quote
The billed count is the greater of your entered minimum and your requested periods rounded up to a whole period. A request for 1.5 periods becomes 2, unless a larger minimum applies. Days, weeks, 30-day periods and calendar-month periods are labels for the provider's terms—not interchangeable durations.
Ask the provider how your exact collection and return dates are billed. This tool does not calculate dates, partial-month refunds, advance discounts or variable rates. For an agreed prorated or changing-rate rental, enter the written total as one whole-storage package, one agreed period and a minimum of one.
The calculation and rounding
Rental per period = quoted rate × quoted quantity, rounded to the nearest fil. Multiply by the whole billed-period count. Then apply the rental's VAT treatment once. Each additional full-stay charge has its own VAT basis and is added once; items already included in another entered amount contribute no additional cost.
For amounts you identify as excluding standard VAT, the calculator adds 5%, rounding that charge's tax to the nearest fil. Already-inclusive or confirmed no-VAT amounts are not taxed again. The Federal Tax Authority identifies the standard UAE VAT rate as 5%. Confirm the actual invoice treatment; the calculator cannot determine tax eligibility or handle other tax rates.
Example: service cost versus refundable money
Using illustrative—not market—figures: AED 800 per month × two billed months + AED 600 collection + AED 600 return = AED 2,800 before any additional tax or extras. A fully refundable AED 500 security deposit means a total budget envelope of AED 3,300, but the service still costs AED 2,800. A booking payment credited against that bill is not an additional charge. Results are not a payment schedule or remaining balance.
Unknown is not free
A complete service total needs every charge resolved as priced, included or not needed, with confirmed tax treatment. The partial subtotal includes only fully tax-resolved lines. Deposit terms must also be resolved before the comparison appears. No cost difference appears until you confirm that the inventory, actual stay, storage conditions, access, transport, cover and exclusions match.
The tool does not convert square metres into cubic metres, guarantee furniture fit or choose an insurance policy. Each money field is capped at AED 1,000,000, quantities at 1,000 and billing periods at 3,650 as error safeguards, not market limits. Amounts and area/volume quantities allow two decimals; item/unit counts and minimum periods must be whole numbers.
