A cracked washbasin and a tired vanity cabinet are different jobs. One may need a compatible new basin on the existing support; the other can involve cabinet assembly, wall fixings, a new top and plumbing that must fit around drawers. Define which parts are staying before asking for a bathroom basin or vanity replacement quote in Dubai.

Quick answer: basin-only or complete vanity replacement?

  • Choose basin-only replacement when the cabinet or pedestal is sound and a compatible fixture is available.
  • For a vanity change, quote the cabinet, basin/top, tap, waste and trap separately from removal and installation.
  • A floating vanity needs a suitable wall and fixing design. Existing tiles do not prove that the wall behind them can carry the new unit.
  • Keep moving concealed pipes, repairing water damage, retiling and waterproofing outside a basic fixture-swap price unless expressly included.

This guide covers replacing the basin and/or its vanity furniture. It does not treat a full bathroom renovation, shower alteration or whole-room waterproofing project as a “small installation”. If the only problem is a dripping tap or slow drainage, request a targeted plumbing assessment before buying new furniture.

What do advertised Dubai prices actually include?

The examples below were reviewed on 12 October 2026. Installation charges and retail furniture packages answer different questions, so they have not been averaged into one “vanity replacement cost”. They are advertised reference points, not Bestimate customer averages or quotes for your property.

Published exampleAED / unitScope and uncertainty
QuickFix: customer-supplied washbasin fitting300–600 / basinBasin fitment, not a complete vanity package. Confirm VAT, removal, parts and disposal.
FreshAir: basin or vanity installation, PL-06565 / unit excluding VAT; 593.25 including its stated 5% VATInstallation line, not a named supplied fixture. Confirm cabinet assembly, fixing and removal scope; rate card valid to 3 December 2026.
IKEA UAE: ENHET / TVÄLLEN, 64×43×65 cm740 / package including VATCabinet, basin and water trap; tap and handles separate. Product supply, not fitting.
IKEA UAE: NYSJÖN / BJÖRKÅN, 54×40×98 cm585 / package including VATCabinet, basin, tap and water trap listed. Different size/specification; not an installed-price comparison.

See the QuickFix basin-fitting price, FreshAir rate card and commercial terms, and the exact ENHET / TVÄLLEN and NYSJÖN / BJÖRKÅN product listings. Stock and retail prices can change. Ask each installer for an all-in written scope; adding a product price to an unrelated fitting advertisement does not produce a verified installed quote.

Choose the same basin-only or complete vanity scope for both providers. This comparison does not turn a fixture swap into a priced bathroom renovation or confirm that a wall can support a floating cabinet.

Open the full bathroom basin & vanity quote comparison. Unknown costs stay unresolved; no complete quote comparison appears until both quotes have the same confirmed scope. This tool uses your prices, not an automatic market estimate.

Illustrative arithmetic only, not a market rate: AED 500 whole-job fitting, AED 800 separately supplied vanity parts and AED 100 agreed support work total AED 1,400 before VAT, or AED 1,470 if all provider amounts exclude 5%. A trap already in the package is not charged again. The visit and all other required lines are confirmed included or not needed.

Choose the replacement that fits the existing bathroom

Measure width and projection, not just the space along the wall. A deeper vanity can obstruct the door, narrow the route to the WC or put a drawer into the trap. Record the existing basin height and where the water supplies and waste emerge. These observations help a provider assess feasibility; they do not replace a survey.

Replacement routeWhat must matchCommon extra scope
Basin on existing cabinet/topOpening, support surface, tap holes, waste and overflow arrangementNew top or matching basin if the existing shape is discontinued
Pedestal or wall-hung basinWall condition, specified brackets/fixings and pipe locationsMaking good exposed old fixing holes or damaged tile
Floor-standing vanityFloor level, footprint, anchoring and door/drawer clearanceAssembly, service cut-outs, old plinth removal and finish repairs
Floating vanity or heavy stone topWall capacity, mounting system and total supported loadSpecialist support, wall preparation or a different product choice

Do not remove a pedestal or cabinet while the basin still depends on it. Ask the installer how the existing fixture will be supported during removal and how the replacement will be secured. Even floor-standing furniture may require wall anchoring: the cited NYSJÖN product instructions require it.

A basin-only change has a different scope from replacing the cabinet and basin together.

Wall fixings, hidden pipes and waterproofing are separate checks

A floating cabinet should never be treated as an ordinary shelf. Have the installer assess the wall construction, condition and appropriate fixings for the selected unit and basin. Do not assume old mounting holes are suitable, or that adding legs eliminates the manufacturer's anchoring requirements.

IKEA’s bathroom installation guide requires wall suitability checks and warns about concealed wires and pipes before drilling. It also directs water or electrical relocation to qualified specialists. These are installation principles, not a claim that one fixing arrangement suits every Dubai wall.

Removing the old vanity can reveal damp plaster, damaged tile, unsealed penetrations or pipe leaks. Agree that the contractor pauses and documents unexpected damage before covering it. Replacing a basin or applying a new sealant bead does not establish that the room’s waterproofing is sound. Any suspected concealed leak or waterproofing failure needs its own assessment and repair scope.

Leave corroded, stiff or leaking isolation valves to the plumber; do not force them. If a basin or vanity moves at its fixings, stop using it and keep children away until assessed. Keep clear of water near sockets or electrical fittings and arrange professional help rather than attempting the replacement.

Cabinet material and plumbing: ask practical questions

“Bathroom suitable” is not permission to leave a cabinet wet. Ask how edges, service openings and joints are protected, which cleaning products are permitted, and what the product warranty actually covers. The cited ENHET listing instructs users to dry wet marks promptly; it does not describe its cabinet as immune to leaks.

Confirm whether the new drawer layout needs a compatible space-saving trap. List the waste fitting and overflow compatibility, tap height/reach, hoses and accessible isolation valves. A basin supplied with a trap should not attract a second supply charge for the same part unless an alternative is genuinely needed and approved.

Mirrors, lighting, sockets, wall taps and stone-top fabrication are not automatic inclusions. In particular, moving a wall-mounted tap or concealed waste can turn a furniture change into opening and making good the wall. Obtain that price before choosing a unit that depends on relocation.

What to send providers—and what to keep private

Share the proposed product link/code, whether you need basin-only or complete vanity work, and what you want to retain. Add a front photo, a side view showing clearance and an accessible under-basin view. Include approximate dimensions, visible damage, the tap type and whether pipes emerge through the wall or floor. Do not loosen fixtures for photos.

Remove toiletries with personal labels, medicines, documents and reflections of people from the frame. A community or neighbourhood is enough for an initial access discussion; share the full address through the booking channel when necessary. Mention building work hours, lift/parking arrangements, contractor-entry rules and whether this is the home’s only basin.

For rented property, confirm permission for the chosen fixture and permanent alterations. Ask building management which approvals or shutdown arrangements apply to the actual work, especially if concealed pipework or shared water isolation is involved.

Compare the total scope, then agree the handover

Quote sectionA complete answer includes
ProductsCabinet, basin/top, tap, handles, waste/trap and who supplies each
Removal and fittingDismantling, assembly, wall fixings/support, plumbing reconnection and protective measures
Excluded or provisional workValves, concealed pipes, tiling, waterproofing, wall repairs, electrical work and variation approval
Charges and logisticsVAT, inspection/call-out fees and credits, delivery, disposal, access costs and any return visit
CompletionSecure and level unit, working drawers/doors, dry connections, drainage checks, safe-use time and workmanship terms

At handover, ask the installer to demonstrate the tap, waste and drainage without leaks, check any overflow as appropriate, and confirm access to the isolation valves. Record the sealant cure time and what to do if a leak appears. A furniture assembly receipt alone does not confirm plumbing testing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep my vanity cabinet and replace only the basin?

Yes, if the cabinet is sound and the new basin matches its support and opening. Confirm compatibility from the actual model dimensions; a similar-looking basin may leave gaps or require a new top.

Is a floating vanity always more expensive to install?

Not automatically. The wall, product weight, mounting system and pipe positions determine the work. An unsuitable wall or hidden damage can add scope, so compare assessed installation packages rather than style labels alone.

Does vanity installation include the tap and trap?

Only when specified. Some furniture packages contain a trap but no tap, and fitting may be charged separately. Ask for both the product inventory and the labour scope.

Can the new vanity cover old holes or water damage?

It may cover marks, but covering active leaks or unstable surfaces is not a repair. Ask the installer to identify the cause and agree any making-good or waterproofing work before installing the cabinet.

How long will the replacement take?

Request a schedule covering delivery, removal, fixing, plumbing, testing and cure time. A compatible fixture swap and a wall-repair project are different programmes; ask when the basin can safely be used.

When should I request a bathroom renovation quote instead?

When the plan includes major layout changes, widespread tiling, shower works, extensive concealed plumbing or waterproofing renewal. Keep those trades and approvals visible rather than hiding them inside a vanity-fitting allowance.
