Ironing-only in Dubai is a separate service from washing or dry cleaning: you send already-clean clothes to be pressed and returned. Two Dubai menus checked on 16 October 2026 advertise ordinary shirts and trousers at AED 4 and AED 5 per item, but tax, delivery and garment restrictions differ. The useful comparison is the final price for your actual basket—not the cheapest headline shirt price.
This guide covers collection-and-return ironing. If you need someone to iron inside your home, ask for that explicitly: an hourly household visit is a different booking, with different equipment and time assumptions.
What does ironing service cost in Dubai?
These are named providers' advertised examples, not a Bestimate tariff, market average or promise of availability. Confirm the current total before collection.
| Provider and scope | Published example | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| Yasin Ritter: ironing only, without washing | Shirt AED 4; trousers AED 4; abaya AED 9 | VAT treatment, collection charges and return deadline for your address |
| Swabi: iron-only individual garments | Shirt AED 5; trousers AED 5; abaya AED 7, excluding 5% VAT | Free collection/delivery from AED 30; below that, AED 5 delivery plus VAT |
| Swabi: press-only bag | Up to 10 items AED 59; up to 20 AED 79; up to 30 AED 109, excluding VAT | Eligible garments, item-count rules and whether your basket actually fills the allowance |

Open the full press-only ironing order comparison. Use your written prices: unknown costs remain unresolved, and comparable totals appear only after both scopes are confirmed.
Compare one real basket, including the return trip
Give each provider the same garment count and ask for a written, all-in collection-and-return total. In the calculator, enter the quoted basket price or confirmed item quantities and rates. Add delivery, specialist-item and express charges only when they are not already included. Leave an unanswered cost as unknown; a blank answer is not free.
Illustrative arithmetic—not a market quote: 12 ordinary items at AED 5 each make AED 60 before tax. If the provider confirms delivery is included and 5% VAT applies to that AED 60, the payable total is AED 63. A separate confirmed final-price basket of AED 68 is AED 5 more for that same order. Do not add VAT again to a tax-inclusive quote.
A minimum order can mean “we will not collect below this value,” a minimum charge, or a delivery-fee threshold. Those are different rules. Ask the provider to apply its rule and any voucher to the final basket before using the result; the comparison tool does not invent eligibility or automatically apply promotions.
Press-only, laundry or dry cleaning: choose the right scope
| Your clothes | Ask for | Boundary to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Clean and dry, but creased | Press-only collection | No washing or stain treatment included unless agreed |
| Worn clothes needing cleaning | A care-label-appropriate cleaning service | Wash-and-fold is not automatically wash-and-iron |
| Structured, delicate or embellished pieces | Individual assessment before accepting a standard rate | Fabric, trims, care label and finishing method |
| Clothes must stay at home | An explicitly agreed in-home ironing visit | Who supplies the iron/board, minimum hours and unfinished items |
For garments that need cleaning as well, use the separate dry-cleaning pickup service where suitable for the care label. Do not select press-only simply because its item price is lower.

When is a bag package better than per-item pricing?
A bag allowance is a ceiling, not a promise that every piece in your wardrobe qualifies. Ask whether a two-piece suit counts as one or two items, whether long dresses and delicate garments are excluded, and whether hangers or protective covers cost extra. A nearly empty bag can be poor value even when its maximum-capacity cost per item looks attractive.
Compare the bag's final payable price with the itemised total for the clothes you will actually send. Do not divide by 20 if your household only has 11 eligible items. For a recurring plan, check whether unused allowance rolls over, how many collections are included and when the plan expires. A monthly plan is not cheaper if your delivery schedule makes it unusable.
Specify the finish, not just “iron everything”
Tell the provider whether shirts should return on hangers or folded, whether trousers should have a crease, and which pieces must not be starched. Separate garments with beads, prints, pleats or sensitive trims for assessment. Keep care labels attached and flag missing labels before collection.
GINETEX's care-symbol guidance distinguishes ironing restrictions, including “do not iron” and restrictions on steam. A provider should assess those instructions rather than assume every clean garment can take the same heat. This guide is not a fabric-treatment prescription.
Before the bag leaves, agree a garment count and note pre-existing damage. For valuable or sentimental clothing, ask about acceptance limits, the claims process and compensation terms before handing it over. A high retail value does not mean a laundry's standard compensation will match replacement cost.
A pickup brief that avoids back-and-forth
Send: “Press only: eight cotton shirts, four trousers and two abayas, all clean and dry. Shirts on hangers, trousers with the existing crease. Collection in [Dubai area], return needed by [date/time]. Please confirm eligible items, VAT, both trips, minimum charge and any express fee before collection.”
Use the private booking fields for your exact address and access instructions. If sending garment photos, crop out faces and remove names, phone numbers, addresses, order labels and barcodes. A close-up of the fabric or care label is usually more useful than a photograph of the whole bedroom.
Check the returned count and finish promptly, keeping the invoice until any concern is resolved. If pressing was missed or the requested crease is wrong, ask how quickly a re-press can be arranged and whether another collection is charged. A clear remedy is more useful than an unsupported “perfect results” promise.

Frequently asked questions
How much does ironing-only cost in Dubai?
The two Dubai item menus reviewed here list ordinary shirts and trousers at AED 4 and AED 5 before resolving each provider's tax and delivery terms. Specialist garments and packages use different prices. Request the final price for your actual basket rather than treating those examples as a citywide rate.
Do I need to wash clothes before booking press-only?
Yes: this booking is for already-clean, dry garments needing finishing. Tell the provider about stains, odour or other cleaning needs so it can offer the appropriate separate scope before collection.
Is pickup always free?
No. It may depend on order value, location, collection frequency or a promotion. Confirm both collection and return delivery, plus what happens below the threshold; do not assume a minimum-order condition is simply an optional top-up.
Can I get same-day ironing?
Only if the provider confirms capacity, collection cut-off, return time and any express charge for your address and garments. A same-day enquiry is not a guaranteed same-day booking.
Can an ironing service press silk, embellished clothes or suits?
Ask for item-specific assessment against the care label. Do not apply a standard shirt rate or finishing method to delicate, structured or embellished garments. Agree handling and liability terms before collection.
