What should the quoted mattress scope include?
A useful quote names the mattress size and approximate dimensions, construction or material, number of usable faces, cleaning steps and drying expectation. Ask whether the technician will dry-vacuum the top, piping and seams; pre-test the fabric; spot-treat named stains; use extraction or a lower-moisture process; and clean the sides or underside. “One mattress” alone leaves too much room for different scopes.
Also separate the removable protector or zip cover from the mattress itself. It may be machine washable under its care label, separately priced, or unsuitable for the technician’s process. Pillow, topper, headboard, divan base and bed frame are separate objects unless the quote explicitly includes them.
Extraction, low moisture and “steam” are not interchangeable
Providers use “steam cleaning” inconsistently. One quote may mean hot-water extraction through an upholstery tool; another may mean vapour applied near the surface; a third may use the phrase for a general deep-clean package.
