Quick answer
For a new or relocated washing machine or dishwasher, first check whether the supplier already includes installation—and whether suitable water, drainage and electrical points are ready. Connecting a compatible appliance to existing points is a different job from creating those points, altering cabinetry or repairing an appliance. Ask for one written scope covering the connection, model-specific setup and testing.
This guide covers domestic appliance hookup in Dubai, not fault repair. A machine that fails after installation may have a connection problem or an appliance fault; an error code alone does not establish which. Keep the delivery, installation and product-warranty records so the right provider can assess it.
What does installation cost in Dubai? Read the unit first
The advertisements below were checked on 16 September 2026. They are planning references, not quotes, verified customer averages or directly interchangeable packages. A category starting price, an hourly labour rate and a defined hookup task should not be averaged into one market price.
| Public example | Advertised amount | Scope to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| DG Help home-appliance installation | From AED 75 | Broad starting offer. Its terms exclude plumbing, electrical and civil work; a preliminary visit may cost extra. Confirm exactly which existing-point connections and setup are included, plus VAT. |
| EZ Sheikh appliance installation | AED 129 per hour, excluding VAT | Parts and materials are additional. Confirm minimum billing, estimated hours, repeat-visit terms and whether each appliance is charged separately. |
| Fixit UAE dishwasher installation | From AED 150 | Water/waste connection and a test cycle are listed. Confirm existing-point assumptions, supplied fittings, integrated-panel work, disposal, call-out and VAT. |
Before paying a separate installer, check your purchase order: ‘delivery’, ‘unboxing’, ‘standard installation’ and ‘installation with modifications’ are not equivalent. Ask the retailer to identify what is included and what must be prepared beforehand. Do not assume an independent hookup preserves every manufacturer or retailer warranty condition; get the applicable terms in writing.
Which installation situation are you actually booking?
| Situation | Core job | Separate questions before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Freestanding appliance; compatible points already present | Position, connect with suitable parts, complete model-specific setup and test | Are supplied hoses/fittings complete? Is safe isolation available? Are old-unit removal and packaging disposal included? |
| No suitable water or waste connection | Plumber assesses and quotes the new connection route | Which alterations and approvals are needed? What surfaces must be opened and reinstated? |
| Integrated dishwasher | Connection plus model-specific fixing and cabinet-door/panel alignment | Are the panel, hinges/fixings, plinth clearance and adjacent cabinetry compatible? Who supplies missing parts? |
| Appliance moved away from existing points | Assess permitted hose lengths, drainage arrangement, access and electrical provision | Do not assume longer generic hoses or an extension lead make the location suitable. |
| Stacked laundry arrangement | Confirm the exact appliance pairing, manufacturer-approved kit and access | Lifting/stacking, the kit and dryer requirements are additional scope—not an ordinary washer hookup. |
‘Built-in’, ‘under-counter’ and ‘fully integrated’ are not enough detail for a quote. Send the exact model and installation drawing. A freestanding dishwasher beneath a worktop is not necessarily the same job as a panel-ready model concealed behind a matching kitchen door.
Compatibility checks that prevent an unsuccessful visit
- Measure the usable opening and door path, not just the front width. Include room for the appliance’s specified hoses, wiring, ventilation and service access; do not use a generic clearance for every model.
- Show the existing water valve and waste connection from a safe visible position. A pipe nearby is not proof there is a suitable connection, working isolation or sufficient drainage arrangement.
- Confirm the supplied inlet/drain accessories and model-approved replacements before delivery day. Do not accept a reused hose or improvised extension simply because the old machine used it.
- Check whether a cabinet panel, fixing kit, stacking kit or special connection part must be ordered. Agree who checks compatibility and who pays for a repeat visit if an essential customer-supplied item is missing.
Samsung Gulf’s washer installation guidance identifies transit-bolt removal, new supply hoses, proper drain routing, levelling and relevant setup checks as installation tasks. The actual model manual controls the dimensions and procedure; this guide deliberately does not give one drain height or calibration sequence for every washing machine.
Bosch UAE’s dishwasher connection guidance likewise refers to the installation instructions, requires a new inlet pipe when replacing an appliance and addresses stable installation and unobstructed hose routing. Ask the installer to confirm compliance with the specific model instead of accepting “all brands fit the same way.”
Electrical work is not an extra hose connection
If the appliance lacks a suitable electrical point, describe that before booking. A plumber or delivery crew should not be presumed qualified to alter wiring. Bosch’s guidance reserves connection changes for specialists and directs power-cord extensions through its customer service. Do not improvise with a general extension lead, multi-plug or an incompatible adapter.
Request an electrician’s assessment for new or unsuitable electrical provision. Keep that scope separate from the water and drainage connection work. The company may coordinate both trades, but the quote should name each task, provider responsibility and finish restoration.
Do not touch a wet plug, operate damaged controls or repeatedly reset a tripping circuit to finish a test cycle. Stop using the appliance and seek appropriate help for water near electrics, burning smells, smoke, a hot/damaged connection or uncontrolled leakage. Installation testing belongs to a competent installer following the manual, not a risky trial run by the customer.
Agree the handover—not just ‘machine connected’
| Handover item | What the installer should explain or demonstrate |
|---|---|
| Model-specific preparation | Required transport restraints removed where applicable; retained parts and documents returned to you; necessary setup completed. |
| Position and access | Stable and correctly levelled installation, usable door/panel movement, and no visibly pinched hoses or blocked required access. |
| Water and drainage | Disturbed connections checked, appropriate filling/draining test completed and any unresolved issue documented. |
| Operating check | The manual-appropriate commissioning/test sequence, including relevant washer vibration or dishwasher operation checks—not merely switching on a display. |
| Final record | Parts fitted, scope exclusions, any follow-up required, final invoice and the provider’s actual workmanship terms. |
Allow time for the agreed test before the team leaves. If a problem is found, record whether it concerns the property connection, installation or the appliance and who will take the next step. Do not pay for speculative internal repairs to a new machine without first checking the supplier’s process.
A booking brief that reduces repeat visits
- State washing machine or dishwasher, exact model, new/reused appliance, freestanding/integrated and whether it is already delivered. Confirm what the retailer or mover has agreed to do.
- Describe existing water, drain and electrical points without dismantling anything. Note old-unit disconnection/removal, new connection work, panel fitting or stacking separately.
- Share the model link and clear photos of the opening and visible connection area. Crop or blur names, addresses, phone numbers, unit numbers, order/delivery labels, barcodes, serial labels and unrelated faces. Send access and contact details through private booking fields.
- For apartments, coordinate delivery/service-lift slots, security access, parking and work hours. Ask building management about any alterations or shared isolation; do not assume every like-for-like hookup needs the same approval.
- Request a final quote with parts, labour basis, testing, tax, disposal, any survey credit and repeat-visit conditions. Get approval requirements for additional work in writing.
If an existing machine needs diagnosis rather than connection, use the washing-machine repair guide or dishwasher repair guide. If the new connection area is already leaking, resolve that first using the under-sink leak assessment checklist.

Is washing-machine or dishwasher installation included with delivery?
Sometimes the purchase includes a defined installation service, but delivery alone does not establish that. Check the order and ask what connections, setup, testing and modifications are covered before booking another provider.
Can a plumber install my washing machine or dishwasher?
A provider offering the relevant appliance hookup can assess and complete suitable water/drain connections and agreed setup. Electrical alterations, integrated cabinet work and internal appliance repairs are separate skills; confirm competence and responsibility for each.
What if there is no water connection where I want the dishwasher?
Ask for an assessment before buying or moving the appliance. New water/waste routing, electrical provision, access and cabinet alterations may be needed. A standard existing-point installation price does not cover that automatically.
Can I reuse the old inlet hose?
Follow the new appliance’s instructions. The reviewed Samsung and Bosch guidance requires new supply/inlet hoses for the relevant installation. Ask the installer to use the appropriate model-compatible parts, not simply reuse what is present.
Does integrated dishwasher fitting include the cabinet door?
Not necessarily. Specify the panel-ready model, existing door/panel, fixing kit, plinth clearance and alignment work. A plumbing hookup quotation alone does not establish that joinery is included.
What should be tested before the installer leaves?
Agree the model-appropriate commissioning check, filling and drainage, connection leak checks, stability and relevant operating checks. A powered display alone does not show that the installation is complete.
