Home/Cost Calculators/Balcony netting

Free quote-comparison tool · reviewed 16 September 2026

Balcony Safety Net Cost Calculator Dubai

A per-square-foot offer and a fixed balcony price may cover different openings and different purposes. Compare their arithmetic here, then confirm the system, installation and written scope. Your entries remain in this page unless you choose to copy or share them.

Compare balcony-net quote amounts

Use the same opening measurements for each quote. No rates are prefilled and no safety rating is calculated.

Bird netting, insect screens and child fall-prevention systems are not interchangeable. This tool checks cost arithmetic only. A professional must assess the intended system and installation.

1. Measure the openings, not the balcony floor

Each group contains identical rectangular openings. Add separate groups for different sizes. Use provider-agreed dimensions; do not lean outside or climb to measure.

Panel group 1

Complete all dimensions and quantities to calculate area.

2. Enter written quote terms

Minimum applies to the combined base before extras. Add separately quoted access, removal or other extras once per job. Do not enter an included charge twice.

All amounts must use the same tax basis. Normalize mixed inclusive and exclusive lines first.

3. Compare arithmetic and missing terms

Quote 1

  • Panel group 1: enter positive width and height up to 100 m (or feet equivalent).
  • Enter a positive amount or rate up to AED 1,000,000.

Quote 2

  • Panel group 1: enter positive width and height up to 100 m (or feet equivalent).
  • Enter a positive amount or rate up to AED 1,000,000.

Confirmed price terms do not mean confirmed safety or equivalent scope. Check intended use, product documentation, permitted fixing locations, installation access, inspection and maintenance terms. No provider ranking is made.

Calculation method and limits

  1. Add width × height × quantity for every rectangular panel group. One foot is 0.3048 metres; one square foot is 0.09290304 square metres. Switching units preserves valid dimensions.
  2. Multiply total opening area by the entered sqm or sqft rate. A per-opening amount multiplies the opening count; a fixed whole-job amount is used once.
  3. Apply a stated minimum to the combined base charge, then add confirmed extras once per job. This assumes the provider uses the same minimum-charge convention.
  4. When amounts exclude 5% VAT, multiply the subtotal by 1.05. When 5% VAT is included, leave the total unchanged and identify its VAT component as subtotal ÷ 21. The no-VAT option must reflect the provider’s actual terms.
  5. If minimum, extras or tax treatment is unknown, show only incomplete arithmetic. Do not use it as a confirmed payable total. A confirmed numerical result still does not establish equivalent products or safety.

Input safeguards allow up to eight panel groups, dimensions above zero and up to 100 metres each, quantities of 1–100 per group, a combined area from 0.000001 to 10,000 m² and amounts up to AED 1,000,000. These are software limits, not installation recommendations. Intermediate arithmetic is not rounded; displayed amounts use two decimals. Sloped, curved or irregular openings, waste allowances, overlaps, fixing schedules and installation design are outside this tool.

The tax option follows the Federal Tax Authority’s VAT overview. Confirm the supplier’s tax wording before entering prices.

Worked arithmetic example — not a quote

A 4 m × 2.5 m front opening plus two 1 m × 2.5 m side openings totals 15 m² and three openings. At an illustrative entered rate of AED 30/m², the base is AED 450. A confirmed AED 500 minimum raises it to AED 500. Add AED 100 of job extras and then excluded 5% VAT: AED 630.

An illustrative AED 200 per-opening amount also gives an AED 600 base for three openings, before its own tax and extra terms. These figures demonstrate the formula only; they do not set a reasonable price or recommend a system.

Public prices use different scopes

These UAE provider pages were checked on 16 September 2026. They are advertisements, not Bestimate transaction averages or prefilled calculator rates. A bird-net package and a child-labelled product pack cannot be treated as equivalent fall-protection quotations.

SourcePublished amountScope caveat
Home Furnishing in DubaiFrom AED 3/ft² standard; AED 4/ft² bird; AED 5/ft² child-labelledAdvertises installation included. Minimum, VAT and installed-system evidence need confirmation; labels are not proof of fall protection.
Bird Spikes UAEAED 300–500 for a stated 10–15 m² balconyBird-netting FAQ includes materials and installation. Measurement basis and VAT need confirmation. Not a fall-protection benchmark.
AmananetAED 336–882 including VAT for listed product packsProduct-pack prices, not an installed balcony quote. A separate installation service is offered; dimensions and full supplied-and-fitted scope need checking.

Cost arithmetic cannot assess safety

The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre’s home-safety guide recommends closed balcony doors, supervision and keeping climbable objects away from windows. It also warns that window mesh frames do not prevent falls. This is safety guidance, not a Dubai net-installation approval.

For child fall-prevention concerns, ask a competent professional to assess the complete system and obtain relevant product documentation. Do not lean on, climb, pull-test or deliberately load a net. Keep children and pets away from damaged or uncertain barriers and contact building management or the installer.

Read the Dubai balcony-net cost and scope guide for the approval questions, survey brief and comparison checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator estimate an installed safety system price?

It compares amounts from quotes you enter. It has no automatic market rates, design calculations or safety score. A suitable professional must assess the intended use, building and complete installation.

Do I measure the balcony floor?

No. Use the width and height of each opening being enclosed, with separate groups for different sizes. These are comparison dimensions, not fabrication measurements or permission to work at height.

How does a fixed price per opening work?

The entered amount is multiplied by every counted opening. Use it only if the provider confirms the same price for each opening. For different prices by size, request a combined whole-job amount.

Are unknown extras treated as zero?

No. Partial arithmetic omits unknown amounts and labels the result incomplete. A final comparable rate is shown only when the minimum, extras and VAT treatment are confirmed.

Can a cheap bird-net quote be compared with child fall prevention?

Not as equivalent scope. A bird-exclusion product label or price is not proof of child fall protection. Obtain written product and installed-system documentation for the intended use.
