The most useful garden-fencing quote is not the lowest number “per metre”. It is the price for the agreed length, height, privacy level, posts, foundations, gates and finish. In Dubai, boundary ownership and community design rules also need resolving before a contractor fabricates panels or drills an existing wall.
Quick answer: how much does garden fencing cost in Dubai?
Public advertisements reviewed on 10 October 2026 include AED 250–350 per linear metre for basic supplied-and-installed aluminium and AED 350–500 per linear metre for aluminium privacy fencing from Royal Plantscape. Other providers advertise timber by the metre or a garden-fence package by the square metre. Those figures cannot be combined into one reliable market range.
Start with a measured elevation showing height as well as length. Ask for a complete installed quote, and separate optional screening from structural boundary-wall repairs. This guide covers residential privacy and boundary fencing, not sports fencing or a certified pool barrier.
Published fencing prices: material, unit and inclusions
| Provider and scope | Advertised AED | Comparison limits |
|---|---|---|
| Royal Plantscape: basic aluminium supply and installation | 250–350 / linear metre | Confirm height, profile thickness, post/foundation allowance and finish. |
| Royal Plantscape: standard aluminium privacy fence | 350–500 / linear metre | Opacity, slat spacing and gates need defining; not equivalent to an open decorative fence. |
| Dubai Repairs: standard wooden fencing with installation | From 200 / metre | The price card does not fix species, height, treatment or foundation scope. |
| Make My Garden: garden-fence package | From 500 / square metre | Posts, panels and installation stated; material, height and gates alter the quote. This is area pricing. |
Sources: Royal Plantscape's aluminium price list, Dubai Repairs' timber offers and Make My Garden's package. VAT, minimum order, removal and permissions are not consistently established. These are indicative advertised figures, not a quote for your property or verified transaction data.
Length is not area. An illustrative 12 m run at 1.8 m height has a gross face area of 21.6 m² before any agreed deductions. That geometry does not prove a supplier's chargeable area: agree treatment of gates, posts, steps, both faces and waste. Do not multiply an already complete project quote by the fence length again.
Compare real written fencing quotes
Use the garden-fencing quote comparison after each provider has priced the same layout. Enter whole-job amounts with quantity 1, tax status and confirmed extras. It compares your numbers; it does not calculate a market rate, validate foundations or approve a fence.
For example, an invented AED 8,000 quotation with a confirmed AED 1,500 removal charge totals AED 9,500 before any separately applicable tax. A different AED 9,200 quotation is not necessarily better value if its gates, finish or foundations remain unspecified. Unknown extras must remain unresolved rather than silently becoming zero.
Open the full garden fencing quote comparison. This arithmetic aid uses your entered written quotes. It does not establish market prices, contractor capability, material suitability or regulatory compliance.
Illustrative arithmetic only, not a market rate: a confirmed AED 1,000 whole-job package plus AED 150 for separately charged old-panel removal and AED 100 for separately charged delivery totals AED 1,250 before tax, or AED 1,312.50 if all provider charges exclude 5% VAT. This assumes every other required line is confirmed included or not needed. Never add an included charge twice.

Choose the fence by its job, not just its colour
| Option | When to consider it | What the specification must answer |
|---|---|---|
| Aluminium slats or panels | A defined modern profile and coordinated pedestrian gate. | Section sizes, finish, spacing, corner details, fixings and matching replacements. |
| Timber | A natural surface where the owner accepts a written maintenance plan. | Species/grade, treatment, finish on both faces and cut edges, ground separation and recoating. |
| Composite/WPC system | A wood-look system with documented exterior performance and accessible spare parts. | Actual brand/model, supports, movement allowances, reinforcement, temperature limits and warranty exclusions. |
| Open mesh or metal panels | Marking a boundary where full visual privacy is not the objective. | Openings, wire/profile specification, coating, post details and whether added screening is permitted. |
View samples from both sides and at an angle: a slatted fence can look private straight on but reveal the garden diagonally. Ask what changes after normal weathering. “WPC” describes a material family, not one tested construction or a promise of zero maintenance.
For example, NewTechWood's UltraEasy manual includes product-specific substructure, reinforcement and heat-exposure provisions. Its details are not universal dimensions for other composites. Obtain the current manual for the exact proposed product, including its suitability beside reflective glazing or a barbecue.

Approvals: identify whose boundary you are changing
Check the plot drawing, existing approved design and responsibility for each wall or fence. A shared edge is not permission to move the boundary, drill a neighbour's wall or extend onto a common area. Tenants should obtain the owner's written consent and check the community process before ordering.
Community rules are specific. Emaar's Reem guidance says approved boundary-wall fencing must be maintained by the villa owner and directs alterations through its home-modification process. The Town Square townhouse manual separately identifies boundary-wall fence screening with approved details and colour. Neither is a universal Dubai permission or fee schedule.
Ask the relevant community manager and contractor to confirm the permitted height, finish, alignment, drawing requirements and any authority approval. Distinguish a like-for-like repair from a taller, more opaque or relocated installation. Put responsibility for submissions, fees, deposits and access passes in the quotation; do not fabricate first and hope approval follows.
Posts, wind exposure and making good can dominate the job
A sound-looking wall is not proof that it can support additional screening. Taller or less open infill changes the forces transferred to posts and fixings. Ask the installer how existing foundations, wall condition, local exposure and the chosen system will be assessed. The manufacturer publishes separate fence installation and wind-load documents, illustrating why a panel brochure alone is insufficient.
Before excavation or drilling, have buried irrigation, electrical routes and other services checked. A fence is not a retaining wall: raised soil or a change in ground level needs its own assessment. Keep drains, meter access and required exit routes unobstructed. Leaning masonry, significant cracks or loose posts require investigation before adding height or weight.
For a garden redesign, coordinate fence works with the landscaping plan and budget before new paving and planting. Routine pruning and irrigation belong in the separate garden-maintenance brief. Existing powered gates may need a gate-motor assessment; do not assume a new fence package includes automation.
A quotation checklist that prevents mismatched offers
- Geometry: each run, finished height from agreed ground levels, corners, steps, openings and which faces receive finishing.
- System: material grade/model, section or board dimensions, colour sample, spacing, posts, caps, fixings and protective finish.
- Ground and walls: survey, excavation, foundations, existing-wall assessment and who repairs disturbed paving or irrigation.
- Gates: number, clear opening, swing, hinges, locks and any separate electrical/automation scope.
- Commercial terms: removal, transport, disposal, approvals, VAT, payment milestones, fabrication lead time and warranty conditions.
Send the same photos and marked-up sketch to garden-fencing providers in Dubai. At handover, check the agreed finish and alignment, gate operation, reinstatement and removal of offcuts. Obtain the maintenance schedule and the exact product details needed to order a matching replacement later.

Frequently asked questions
Is fencing priced per metre or per square metre?
Both appear in Dubai advertisements. A linear metre measures length; square metres include height. Request a dimensioned layout and final installed total, with the supplier's measurement rules, before comparing prices.
Which is cheaper: wooden or aluminium fencing?
The answer depends on the actual specification and site. Advertised timber starting prices and aluminium ranges above do not describe identical heights, foundations or finishes. Compare complete quotes and the required maintenance, not material labels alone.
Can I raise my existing boundary fence for privacy?
Only after confirming ownership, approvals and whether the supporting wall or posts can accept the proposed addition. A neighbour's installation does not establish permission for your plot.
Is WPC fencing maintenance-free in Dubai?
No such blanket promise is justified. Ask for the exact system's cleaning instructions, heat and movement provisions, spare parts and written warranty exclusions. Hardware, posts and gates still need attention.
Can a garden privacy fence also act as a pool fence?
Not automatically. Pool access control has separate design and gate requirements. Tell the contractor about the pool at the start and request a purpose-designed, approved barrier rather than repurposing decorative screening.
Should I repair panels or replace the whole fence?
Request a condition assessment of the posts, fixings and supporting wall first. Local panel replacement can be sensible when the underlying system is sound and matching parts exist. Repeated movement or widespread support damage should not be concealed with new boards.
