Mobile Car Inspection Dubai: Pre-Purchase Checks & Costs

Book a Dubai pre-purchase car inspection at the seller's location. Compare report scope, road tests, access, EV support and the limits of history checks.

Quick answer: A mobile pre-purchase car inspection in Dubai brings an independent assessment to the seller's home or another suitable parking location before you buy. Compare the actual tests, access limits and written report—not the largest advertised point count. It does not replace an RTA registration inspection or guarantee that hidden damage and every historical event will be found.

The useful outcome is a documented picture of what was checked, what was found and what remains uncertain. A quick electronic scan, a vehicle-history report and a physical buyer's inspection answer different questions. Buying all three under the label “full check” still leaves gaps if nobody explains the limitations.

For a visit to the vehicle's location, choose Pre-Purchase Car Inspection. Specify the car, seller's permission, parking access and whether the report is needed before a purchase decision. This is not the property pre-purchase inspection category.

What do mobile inspection packages cost?

The examples below are advertised packages reviewed on 20 October 2026. They are not a normalized market range: checks, vehicle eligibility, travel and tax treatment differ.

Published mobile inspection offers and comparison limits

Provider/packageAdvertised price per vehicleWhat to clarify
InspectMotors BasicAED 299 including VATIts basic mobile scope, vehicle eligibility and any applicable travel/extras.
InspectMotors Sleep EasyAED 397.95 including VATExtended package with paint-thickness/condition information; confirm actual tests available for your vehicle and location.
CarInspectionDubai.ae ComprehensiveAED 399; VAT treatment not establishedPublished extended checks and a road-test item; confirm access, permissions, underbody method and complete payable amount.

A higher “point” count is not a standardized measure of inspection quality. One provider can split a single system into many checklist lines. Ask to see a sample report and the actual scope before paying; do not rank packages by the headline number alone.

Open the full quote comparison calculator. This tool uses your written quotes, not a market-price estimate. Enter two written quotes for the same scope. Unknown costs stay incomplete; confirm VAT, exclusions and booking terms before comparing.

Set the inspection conditions before the inspector travels

Arrange the seller's agreement to the visit, access to keys and relevant documents, and permission for the proposed checks. Agree who receives the report and whether the inspector has any relationship with the seller. An inspection paid for by the buyer should still have clearly written independence and confidentiality terms.

Ask whether the vehicle needs to be available without being warmed up in advance and whether a road test is included. A test drive requires the necessary permission, lawful/insured use and suitable conditions; do not treat it as guaranteed because it appears on a package list. If it cannot happen, the report should record that limitation.

Send photos of the parking area. Tight basement bays, poor light or inaccessible underside areas can reduce what is observable. “Underbody inspection” might mean a limited visual check rather than a full lift inspection. Ask which method is planned and when a workshop follow-up would be recommended.

Compare evidence, not just check marks

Questions a useful mobile inspection report should answer

AreaEvidence to requestLimit to keep visible
Identity and conditionsVehicle/VIN, mileage displayed, date, location and inspection conditions.A displayed mileage is not independent proof of the entire mileage history.
Body and paintPhotographs and observations, with measurements where included.Repainting alone does not establish the cause, severity or complete accident history.
Mechanical/electronic checksSystems assessed, diagnostic findings and observed symptoms.A scan is not an engine teardown or a guarantee of future reliability.
Underbody and road testActual access method and whether the planned test was completed.Inaccessible or untested areas must not be silently marked satisfactory.
Next stepsPrioritized findings, further investigation and separately identified repair estimates. An indicative estimate is not a binding repair quote or a promise the car is worth buying.
Mounted wheel and tyre visible during an exterior used-car condition assessment.
Ask the report to distinguish observed condition, measurements and areas that could not be inspected.

RTA's vehicle-inspection service concerns official roadworthiness checks for registration, renewal or export with plates. Its page also describes Mobile Technical Inspection through designated centres; a private mobile buyer's report is not that official service and does not replace the required process. Equally, a registration test should not be treated as the full buying investigation described here.

History documents are a separate layer. RTA's Technical Vehicle Status Report requires the owner's consent. RTA warns that accident history and other records may be incomplete or unavailable. Confirm the coverage of any additional history product, especially for an imported vehicle; “no record found” is not proof that nothing happened.

Do not circulate an owner's identity documents or private reports in public posts. Use the authorised sharing process and inspect the provider's privacy terms. Ask which history checks are actually included in the inspection price and which require a separate purchase or consent.

EVs, imports and high-value cars need a specific brief

State the powertrain and exact model before booking. For an EV or hybrid, ask which model-specific diagnostic data the inspector can access and whether a meaningful battery assessment is included. A basic scan or dashboard range display is not automatically a battery state-of-health measurement. An unavailable result should be reported as unavailable, not inferred.

For an imported or modified vehicle, share the available service and import records and describe known modifications. Ask what the inspector can assess on site and what needs specialist equipment or a separate facility. Do not assume a general mobile package includes structural measurement, deep mechanical investigation or every manufacturer diagnostic function.

Turn the report into a buying decision

Ask the inspector to separate observed defects, reasonable concerns and items that could not be checked. If a material concern remains unresolved, arrange the recommended further investigation before relying on a clean overall rating. Seller pressure to finish the transaction is not evidence that an untested system is sound.

Compare inspection quotes only once report scope, road-test/underbody arrangements, model support, travel, tax and delivery time are aligned. Keep optional history reports and repeat visits visible. Ask about cancellation if the seller withdraws access or the car is unavailable.

If the report identifies a specific fault, obtain the relevant repair assessment rather than treating its estimated allowance as a fixed repair price. Car Diagnostics is the appropriate follow-up for an unresolved fault; it is not a substitute for the broader pre-purchase brief.

Compare Mobile Car Inspection Quotes. Confirm the written scope, price and availability before booking.

Frequently asked questions

Can the inspector visit the seller's home?

Yes, mobile providers advertise visits to the vehicle. Confirm seller consent, keys, suitable parking and any tests that cannot be completed at that location.

Does the inspection replace the RTA test?

No. A private buyer's inspection and the official registration/roadworthiness process serve different purposes. Follow the current RTA requirements separately.

Will a mobile inspection prove the car has never been flooded or crashed?

No. It can document visible indicators and available evidence, but hidden damage and incomplete historical records remain possible. Ask what was checked and what needs further investigation.

Is a 600-point package necessarily better than a 120-point package?

Not from the number alone. Compare actual methods, access, vehicle support, report evidence and exclusions. Checklist counts are not a shared industry scoring system.

Can an inspector confirm an EV battery's exact health?

Only where the vehicle, available data, method and package support it. Ask for the method and limitations before booking; do not treat every electronic scan as an exact battery-health test.
