“Item” is not a standard size. A sock, T-shirt, towel and bedsheet may each count as one piece, while bulky or specialist items may be rejected or charged separately. Ask for the eligible-item list and the rule used when the cap is exceeded.

A kg package is easier to audit at collection, but only if the weighing point and rounding rule are clear. Ask whether the bag is weighed before or after any rejected pieces are removed and whether a small excess triggers a per-kg charge or the next package.
A “bag” is not a unit until the capacity is written
Washmen’s current pricing page lists wash and fold at AED 75 per bag, but that price block does not state a weight or item cap. That is useful as a bag-price example, not as evidence that it is cheaper or dearer than 6 kg or 30 items. Before booking any bag offer, save a screenshot of the live capacity, accepted items, overflow rule and collection total.
Do not convert an item-count bag into kilograms—or a kg load into items—to manufacture a universal per-piece price. A load of lightweight gym wear behaves differently from one containing jeans, bath towels and sheets. Compare within the provider’s stated unit.
What should wash and fold include?
The core sequence is machine wash, mechanical drying and folding. Pressing is normally a separate product. Public pages also differ on whether the provider sorts colours, offers a requested temperature, treats stains, supplies bags or includes doorstep collection. Put those choices in writing rather than relying on the service name.
Remove dry-clean-only pieces, embellished clothing, structured jackets and anything that cannot be tumble dried.
