Home/Cost Calculators/Curtain cleaning

Free written-quote comparison · reviewed 18 September 2026

Curtain Cleaning Cost Calculator Dubai

Compare two real quotes even when one is priced by fabric area and another by panel, kilogram or whole job. The tool reconciles the arithmetic, handling charges and tax wording without inventing a Dubai rate.

Compare two curtain-cleaning quotes

Use one physical curtain inventory, even when providers quote by total billable fabric area, panel, kilogram or whole job. No market rate is generated.

1. Describe the same curtains once

Count every removable fabric piece once. Enter a provider-confirmed total area for mixed sizes, or use the geometry helper only when all entered panels have the same laid-flat width and drop.

Count each removable curtain, sheer, blackout or separate lining piece once—not windows, pairs or an extra layer multiplier. Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Use the written total when panels differ in size. This value takes priority over the helper below. Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Do not estimate weight from room size. Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Helper only. Use fabric width when spread flat—not gathered window, track or opening width. Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Do not use this helper across panels with different dimensions. Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Billable fabric-area check

Same-size helper: laid-flat width × drop × total physical panels = not calculated.

Area used for an m² quote: not confirmed.

A direct provider total takes priority. Curtain fullness means gathered window width is not fabric width, and this tool never adds an automatic lining or fullness multiplier.

For mixed fabrics, sizes or cleaning methods, use the provider's written whole-job extended total or compare separately. Do not apply one unit rate across a mixed inventory unless the actual quotation does so.

2. Enter each written quote

Use digits and a dot for decimals; do not use commas or currency symbols.

Mark work included when it is already inside the base price. Enter only a separate extended add-on; this prevents take-down, rehanging or transport from being counted twice.

Keep all entered lines on the same tax basis. Do not select the last option unless the provider states it in writing.

3. Compare complete, equivalent scopes

Quote 1

Correct these inputs before calculating:

  • Enter a positive written price or rate up to AED 1,000,000.

Quote 2

Correct these inputs before calculating:

  • Enter a positive written price or rate up to AED 1,000,000.

Confirm that both quotes cover the same inventory and equivalent written scope before comparing totals.

Arithmetic aid only—not a provider quote, market average, cleaning-method recommendation or fabric-safety assessment. Unknown charges stay unknown. Ask the cleaner to confirm fabric suitability, shrinkage/colour risk, stain expectations, drying and handling in writing.

How the calculation works

  1. Describe one shared inventory: total physical panel count, optional provider-confirmed billable area or same-size geometry, and optional provider-confirmed weight.
  2. Extend each provider's written cleaning price: whole-job amount, fabric m² × rate, panels × rate or confirmed kg × rate.
  3. Apply a confirmed minimum only to the base cleaning amount, before take-down, rehanging, transport or other separately priced work.
  4. Add excluded add-ons once. Mark work already inside the base as included so it is not counted twice.
  5. Add 5% VAT once only when the quote states it is excluded. An inclusive total is unchanged; its VAT component is total ÷ 21.

The comparison identifies a lower arithmetic total only when both totals are complete and you confirm equivalent scope. It never converts an unknown charge to zero.

Measure fabric, not the window opening

For an m² quote, prefer the cleaner's written total billable fabric area. The optional helper multiplies laid-flat width of one panel × drop × total physical panel count, so it is suitable only when those panels share the same dimensions. A 2 m-wide window can carry substantially more than 2 m of gathered fabric; window or track width is not a substitute.

Count every removable sheer, blackout curtain or separate lining piece once in the physical panel total. Do not multiply the same panel by a generic layer or fullness factor. A bonded blackout backing may require a different cleaning method but is not automatically another panel or another area charge.

When sizes, fabrics, treatments or unit rates differ, use the provider's confirmed total billable area or whole-job extended price, or compare the groups separately. Do not apply one rate across a mixed set unless that is how the written quote is calculated.

Scope matters more than the advertised unit

Confirm whether curtains are cleaned in place or taken away, who removes and reinstalls hooks or tracks, collection and return timing, pressing/steaming, stain or odour treatment, drying, access and any risk exclusions for delicate fabric, embellishments or blackout coatings. A per-panel offer that includes handling can be more complete than a lower area rate that excludes it.

If VAT is stated as excluded, this tool adds 5%. If it is included, the displayed total stays unchanged. Select the non-registered/no-VAT option only when the provider states that position in writing; the Federal Tax Authority identifies the standard UAE VAT rate as 5%.

Before you send curtains for cleaning

  • Photograph the curtains, headings, labels and existing marks before removal.
  • Ask how the provider handles shrinkage, colourfastness, bonded blackout layers and stain limitations.
  • Record every physical panel or removable fabric piece on the collection note; confirm turnaround and rehanging date.
  • Crop or blur addresses, unit numbers and unrelated people from quote photos; share access details privately.

Frequently asked questions

Does window width equal curtain fabric area?

No. Curtains are commonly gathered. Use the provider's total billable fabric area, or use laid-flat panel width × drop × total physical panel count only when those panels are the same size. The tool applies no automatic lining or fullness multiplier.

Can I compare a per-kg quote with a per-panel quote?

Yes, if both providers cover the exact same curtains and complete scope. Enter the shared panel count and provider-confirmed weight; the calculator extends each written rate to its own whole-job total.

What happens when transport or VAT is not stated?

The tool shows only the known subtotal and withholds an all-in total and lower-price comparison. Unknown does not mean free or included.

Does the calculator recommend a cleaning method?

No. Fabric identification, colourfastness, shrinkage risk, stain expectations and the appropriate cleaning method need assessment by the provider.
