Quick answer
Curtain cleaning in Dubai is advertised by square metre, panel or job—not one standard room price. Two reviewed collection-service price lists show AED 10–12/m² for sheers, AED 12–15/m² for standard curtains and AED 16–19/m² for blackout curtains. An on-site provider advertises from AED 29 per panel. These are separate advertised references, not equivalent packages or Bestimate averages. Confirm the fabric, billable quantity, removal, re-hanging and tax before choosing.
The most useful question is not “How much for a bedroom?” It is “What exactly will you clean, how will you measure it, and what happens to the lining?” This guide helps you compare curtain cleaning services in Dubai while keeping existing curtains. It is separate from buying new curtains and installation.
Curtain cleaning prices: compare the same unit first
Public provider pages checked on 18 September 2026 show the following. These are indicative planning references, not quotes or endorsements. Published rates can change, and VAT, minimum orders, exact measurements and access conditions must be confirmed in writing.
| Provider and published basis | Advertised AED rates | Important scope check |
|---|---|---|
| WashOn item cards: per m² | Sheer 10; normal 12; blackout 16 | The page also uses generic per-piece wording. Ask which unit applies to your order, how area is measured and whether taking down/re-hanging is included. |
| Instacare: per m² | Sheer 12; standard 15; blackout 19; heavy/velvet 20 | Remove & Refit is advertised separately at AED 100 per job. Confirm the job limit, access and final tax-inclusive total. |
| HomeShine: per panel | From 29 | On-site or pickup options. Confirm accepted panel size, fabric and chosen method; track cleaning, alterations and lining replacement are excluded. |
Do not rank these offers by the smallest number. AED 29 per panel cannot be compared with AED 12/m² until the panel size and service scope are known. A delivery threshold is also not necessarily a cleaning minimum. Ask both questions separately.
Measure the curtains—not just the window
A 3 m-wide window does not establish 3 m of billable fabric width. Folds contain extra material. One Dubai curtain specialist's measurement guidance uses fabric width without pleats; other providers may assess differently. Have the cleaner confirm the area before collection. Do not climb or remove heavy curtains simply to get a measurement.
| Quoted unit | What to confirm | Common comparison mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Per m² | Agreed width × drop for each panel; whether width means unpleated fabric or covered opening; the treatment of each layer. | Using the window opening for one quote and full fabric area for another. |
| Per panel / pair | One panel is one separate curtain piece. Record dimensions and whether the stated price covers one piece or a pair. | Counting two sheer pieces and two blackout pieces as one curtain. |
| Per kg / whole job | For weight-based quotes, ask for confirmed billable weight and minimum. For a job price, list every included panel and task. | Converting kilograms to m² using a guessed fabric weight, or comparing an unitemised total. |
List removable sheers and blackout curtains separately. A sewn-in lining is not automatically another separately billed curtain: ask whether the quoted fabric rate includes it. For a motorised track, identify the system and agree who handles removal and re-hanging; fabric cleaning is not a motor repair.

Compare your actual curtain-cleaning quotations
The calculator below compares reader-entered quotes using the provider's confirmed pricing basis. Enter the billable area, panel count or whole-job amount, then account for extras, any minimum charge and the stated VAT treatment. It does not generate a market quote or decide which cleaning method is safe for your fabric.
Illustrative arithmetic: two hypothetical panels, each 3 m wide when unpleated and 3 m in drop, total 18 m². If a written quotation specifies that area at AED 14/m² plus AED 80 for removal and re-hanging, the known subtotal is AED 332 before any separately stated tax or other charges. An AED 350 job quote is not automatically worse: it may include items missing from the first quotation. These example prices are invented solely to demonstrate the calculation, not provider offers.
Leave unquoted items unresolved rather than entering zero. Only compare totals after both providers confirm the same panels, accepted cleaning method and completion scope.

On-site or take-down cleaning?
On-site describes where the work happens, not one universal cleaning process. Ask what “steam cleaning”, “dry cleaning” or “deep cleaning” means in that quotation and why it suits the face fabric, backing and trims.
| Option | Why you might choose it | Confirm before booking |
|---|---|---|
| On-site, curtains remain hanging | Avoids collection and a period without the curtains; useful when the accepted method can be performed safely in place. | How headings, backs and folds are reached; protection of floors and nearby furniture; moisture control and drying guidance; whether the full height is accessible. |
| Take down, clean off-site, return | Allows a facility-based process and finishing where appropriate to the curtain's care instructions. | Who removes and refits; recorded panel count and existing damage; cleaning method; hooks/weights; return date, pressing, final hanging and any collection charge. |
Plan privacy while curtains are away, especially in a bedroom or street-facing villa. Instacare advertises a 4–6-day return window for its collection service; that is a provider-specific schedule, not a Dubai standard. Ask your chosen cleaner for the actual return and re-hanging appointment. An on-site visit finishing does not necessarily mean the fabric is fully dry.
The care label matters more than “blackout” or “premium”
Blackout curtains are not all constructed alike. For example, IKEA's KORGMOTT care instructions permit washing but prohibit dry cleaning for that specific product. This does not make all blackout curtains washable; it shows why a method cannot be chosen from the category name alone.
Send a photograph of the actual care label and both sides of the fabric. Ask the cleaner to record faded or weak areas, loose seams, water marks, damaged coating and previous treatment before work. Where the label is missing or the fabric is valuable, request a specialist assessment rather than accepting a blanket “safe for all fabrics” promise.
Dollar Curtains + Blinds' care guidance prioritises the care label, a suitable gentle vacuum attachment and an inconspicuous test before spot treatment. These are useful questions for a cleaner, not permission to apply water, heat or solvent to an unidentified curtain. A small successful test cannot guarantee the entire curtain will respond identically.
Agree realistic stain-removal expectations. Cleaning does not replace a damaged blackout backing, repair a torn seam or restore a sun-faded colour. If a rail is loose, stop operating it and resolve the curtain track or rod repair before a cleaning visit.

What a complete Dubai cleaning quote should include
- Inventory: room-by-room panel count, layers, dimensions or agreed weight, fabric/lining description and quoted unit.
- Method and condition: care-label assessment, accepted treatment, stain exclusions and the process for approving a changed method or price.
- Handling: taking down, collecting, tagging panels by room, removing/refitting compatible hooks, pressing or finishing, delivery and re-hanging.
- Access: curtain height, ceiling recess, furniture clearance, suitable access equipment, building work hours, security entry, parking and collection arrangements. Do not assume a standard visit covers double-height villa curtains.
- Money and completion: minimum charge, separately priced extras, tax status, payment timing, return appointment, drying guidance and written damage/complaint terms.
Ask whether track cleaning is included rather than assuming it is part of curtain cleaning. If you are coordinating a wider home clean, the Dubai cleaning service selector helps separate textile work from general housekeeping or a deep clean.
Send one clear brief to every provider
Photograph the full window, separate layers, care label and any marks from a safe standing position. State the number of panels, approximate drop if known, whether removal is needed, and when you need the room usable again. Avoid including personal documents, addresses or unrelated people in photographs. Before the team arrives, agree furniture clearance and keep children and pets away from equipment and the work area.
If fabric is persistently damp, there is a leak or mould is suspected, explain that before booking; do not treat curtain cleaning as a fix for the underlying moisture problem.

How much does curtain cleaning cost in Dubai?
Reviewed collection-service lists advertise sheers at AED 10–12/m², standard curtains at AED 12–15/m² and blackout curtains at AED 16–19/m². A separate on-site provider starts at AED 29 per panel. These are not interchangeable quotes; confirm dimensions, layers, method, fitting, minimums and VAT.
Can curtains be cleaned without taking them down?
Some providers offer on-site cleaning while curtains remain hanging. Suitability depends on the actual fabric, lining, condition and access. Ask which method will be used and how both sides, folds and headings are addressed.
Is dry cleaning always safest for blackout curtains?
No. Follow the product's care instructions and a competent assessment. Some blackout products explicitly prohibit dry cleaning. “Blackout” identifies a light-blocking function, not a universal cleaning method.
Does the price include taking down and re-hanging?
Not necessarily. One reviewed provider lists a separate AED 100 Remove & Refit add-on per job. Confirm the number of panels, height limit, hardware handling and any second visit in your own quotation.
How often should I book curtain cleaning?
Use the actual care instructions and observed condition rather than one fixed calendar for every home. Dust exposure, pets, cooking proximity and previous care differ. Ask for a fabric-compatible maintenance plan; avoid promises that a scheduled clean will eliminate allergies.
Will a general home deep clean include the curtains?
Do not assume so. Ask whether the quote covers curtain fabric treatment or only reachable surface dusting, and whether both sheer and blackout layers are included. Keep specialist textile cleaning separately itemised.
