How the comparison works
Package mode adds the whole-sofa quote once, then adds only separately quoted extras. Mark covered work as included. Itemised mode uses either the quoted fabric total or supplier-confirmed metres × the quoted AED per metre, then adds foam, labour, structure, collection and other items. The tool never estimates fabric metres from seat count.
Replacement cost is the chosen sofa price plus confirmed delivery/assembly, old-sofa removal and other costs. Each option has its own VAT treatment. VAT is added once at 5% only when you select an exclusive quote; inclusive prices are not taxed twice. The Federal Tax Authority states the standard UAE rate.
Unknown does not mean zero
A blank amount or unconfirmed scope keeps the all-in total incomplete. You may see the subtotal of entered lines, but no cost difference or percentage appears until both totals are complete. “Included” means that cost is already represented elsewhere; “not needed” must be an explicit decision, not an assumption. Amounts are rounded to two decimal places. Mixed-tax quotations need normalising before entry.
Dubai price context, not automatic rates
Checked on 16 September 2026: RepairSofaDubai's table lists AED 900–1,400 for full fabric reupholstery of a three-seater, while its FAQ gives a different AED 800–1,200 figure. Karnak lists AED 1,400–5,000 across three-seater fabric tiers; Adams gives AED 3,500–7,000. These are different provider advertisements and specifications, not a Bestimate average. VAT and exact repair scope require confirmation. None is prefilled as your price.
The cheaper total does not decide the job
A sound frame, a layout that already fits, the comfort you want and a documented fabric specification can support keeping a sofa. Unresolved structural damage, an unsuitable size or a replacement that better meets your needs may support buying new. There is no universal “replace above 50%” rule. The percentage describes only your entered costs, not expected lifespan or quality.
Ask for fabric identity, cleaning instructions and relevant test data. ACT warns that higher abrasion counts do not establish a longer service life. Foam density and firmness are separate properties, as the Polyurethane Foam Association explains. Confirm both instead of relying on “premium” labels.
Before sending the sofa away
Agree the fabric code, cushions/panels included, frame inspection, written approval for hidden damage, collection and return dates, access arrangements and workmanship terms. Photograph condition and crop or blur names, addresses, labels and unrelated faces. Put access and contact information in private booking fields.
