Stone Wall Cladding Dubai: Materials & Installed Costs

Plan stone wall cladding in Dubai with clear material, fixing and preparation details. Compare complete installed quotes, not misleading square-metre rates.

For stone wall cladding in Dubai, the important purchase is a complete wall system: the specified stone, a suitable supporting wall, the fixing method and the finished edges. A photograph and an AED-per-square-metre price do not tell you whether two installers are quoting the same thing.

Quick answer

  • Separate actual natural or manufactured stone from PVC, MDF and other stone-look decorative panels.
  • Ask for a measured installed quotation identifying the stone, thickness, fixing system, preparation, corners, openings and access equipment.
  • No defensible like-for-like installed Dubai price range emerged from the sources reviewed on 15 October 2026. Supplier material prices and mixed-material advertisements are not complete installation prices.
  • Exterior, high-level, heavy and wet-area work needs assessment before choosing the fixing method. Do not cover damp, loose finishes or unexplained cracks.

What does stone wall cladding cost in Dubai?

Start with square metres of agreed finished wall coverage, but request a whole-project total. A small entrance with many corners can require more cutting and finishing than a larger rectangular feature wall. Stone selection, thickness, backing, fixing and working height all change the scope.

NAPT lists natural-stone supply, installation, cutting and substrate preparation; Stone Art Hub describes both interior and exterior cladding projects. These provider pages support the service scope, not a common installation tariff. Neither establishes a comparable installed price for your wall. Ask for the actual material schedule before accepting a low headline rate.

Quotation basisWhat it can includeWhat to check separately
Stone supply per sqmSpecified material and finish, sometimes standard-size pieces onlyThickness, cutting, waste, delivery, fitting and VAT
Installed flat-wall rateThe supplier's defined material and basic installation scopeWall repairs, corner returns, reveals, removals and access equipment
Complete surveyed projectAgreed elevations, materials, fixing, preparation, finishing and logisticsUnresolved defects, approvals, provisional items and variation rules

If a supplier prices stone by the box or piece, confirm its actual coverage rather than treating one unit as one square metre. Keep purchased material quantity separate from measured installed area.

Compare complete cladding quotations

Use the tool below with reader-entered whole-project quotes. Enter each complete amount once and add only confirmed exclusions. A missing scaffolding or wall-repair figure is an unresolved cost, not zero. The comparison cannot determine whether a wall or fixing system is safe.

Illustrative arithmetic only: an invented AED 10,000 cladding package plus AED 1,000 of separately quoted preparation equals AED 11,000 before tax. If both amounts exclude applicable 5% VAT, the total is AED 11,550. These figures are not a Dubai market estimate. Do not add preparation or VAT again if already included.

Compare the same real-stone wall finish and fixing scope. A supply-only square-metre rate is not a complete installed price. Ask providers to extend the measured quantities into whole-project totals before using this tool.

Open the full stone wall cladding quote comparison. Unknown costs stay unresolved; no complete quote comparison appears until both quotes have the same confirmed scope. This tool uses your prices, not an automatic market estimate.

For a lighter decorative-board project, see the wall-paneling guide. For a continuous coating rather than individual stone pieces, compare the microcement scope. Neither should be relabelled as natural-stone installation.

The wall and fixing system come before the finish

The Natural Stone Institute's guidance on vertical installations identifies structural support, loading, stone type and climate as considerations when choosing adhered or anchored systems. “We always use this adhesive” is not a project-specific design explanation.

Ask who assesses the existing wall, chooses the complete fixing system and takes responsibility for any required engineering. The installer should identify what preparation or testing is needed and which conditions would stop installation. High-level exterior work is not simply indoor decorative tiling carried outside.

Report damp patches, loose existing cladding and cracks before the survey. Do not remove heavy pieces to inspect behind them yourself. Keep people away from an area where material appears unstable and arrange professional assessment. In a shower or another wet area, decorative stone and a surface sealer do not, by themselves, establish a complete waterproofing design; use the bathroom waterproofing guide to frame that separate scope.

Measure the job without hiding the difficult parts

Send approximate width and height for initial discussion, then have the installer confirm final measurements. Mark windows, doors, sockets, recesses, external corners and side returns. Agree whether openings are deducted and whether reveals are included in the area or charged separately. There is no reason to assume every provider uses the same measurement convention.

For the stone order, ask the supplier to explain cutting allowance, pattern matching, breakage allowance and spare pieces. Do not add an arbitrary waste percentage to an installed quote that already includes materials. Confirm who owns unused stock and whether a small retained batch is included for future repairs.

Approve a physical sample and a layout drawing before cutting. Record vein direction, joint appearance, corner treatment and how stone meets skirting, adjacent paint and fittings. Where colour or pattern variation matters, ask to review the proposed batch or agreed sample range rather than one unusually uniform display piece.

What a clear written quotation should contain

ItemAsk the provider to record
Material and layoutProduct, thickness, finish, measured area, drawing, joints and corners
Preparation and attachmentRemoval, substrate repairs, specified fixing system and responsible designer where required
Access and protectionScaffolding or other access equipment, delivery route, floor protection and disposal
Completion and commercial termsCleaning, any specified sealing, care instructions, warranty scope, VAT and written variation approval

Ask your owner, building or community manager which permissions and contractor-entry arrangements apply before committing to exterior changes. Emaar Community Management directs residents to its modification guidelines and permit process; that is a community-specific example, not a universal permit rule for every feature wall.

Prepare a useful cladding request

Provide the wall location, approximate dimensions, photos from a safe position, desired stone or reference finish, current defects, property type and preferred timing. Say whether you own the material and whether removal, supply and fitting are all required. Remove personal documents, faces and security details from photos. Do not climb to photograph a high wall.

Ask the responding installer to confirm relevant experience, the survey scope and availability before making commitments. A listed service category does not itself verify specialist competence, engineering approval or a guaranteed response. Keep the same drawing and specification for every quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Is stone wall cladding priced per square metre?

Often the measured wall area is a starting point, but complete projects can include separately priced cutting, corners, preparation, fixing and access. Request the installed total and its measurement basis.

Can stone be installed over existing tiles or paint?

Do not assume so. The installer must assess the supporting wall, existing finish and proposed system. Removal or preparation may be necessary; a photo cannot establish adequate support or bonding.

Is stone cladding the same as marble-look wall paneling?

No. Actual stone, backed stone veneer, manufactured stone and a printed decorative board have different compositions and installation requirements. Ask for the product identity, not only its visual description.

Can I supply my own stone?

Possibly, if the installer accepts its condition, quantities, specification and suitability. Confirm who provides fixing materials and who is responsible for damaged pieces, shortages and warranty exclusions before ordering.

Will exterior stone cladding stop a wall leak?

Do not use it as an assumed leak repair. The cause of water entry and the complete wall detailing need assessment first. Ask for any remedial work and its responsibility to be documented separately.

Reviewed on 15 October 2026 using the linked UAE stone-provider scope pages, Natural Stone Institute installation guidance and Emaar's community information. The illustrative VAT calculation follows the Federal Tax Authority's standard-rate explanation, only where that treatment applies.
